Aetna Signs Contract With Medical Clinic Of Houston
HOUSTON, August 02, 2012 — Aetna (NYSE: AET) and Medical Clinic of Houston (MCH) today announced a new agreement on a three-year contract that adds MCH’s primary care physicians and diagnostic services to Aetna’s provider network for the first time. Under the agreement, Aetna members will now be able to receive inpatient and outpatient services at in-network rates from Medical Clinic of Houston’s 27 primary care physicians (PCPs). MCH’s 17 sub-specialists are already a part of Aetna’s network. The contract excludes Aetna’s Medicare Advantage program. “We are pleased to be able to offer our members access to the health services provided by the Medical Clinic of Houston’s physicians,” said Karen Chotiner, Aetna’s head of network in South Texas. “The addition of MCH PCPs and diagnostic services will provide greater choice and convenience for our members in Houston.” “Our agreement with Aetna supports MCH’s mission of providing a robust continuum of care to patients and employers in Houston and surrounding areas who are seeking high quality, convenient medical services,” said Martin White, M.D., managing partner of Medical Clinic of Houston. “Aetna members can now have their primary care provided in-network by MCH physicians in addition to having access to our full complement of diagnostic services.” About Aetna |
