Aetna To Offer Affordable Benefits Package To Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Members
BLUE BELL, Pa., July 09, 2012 — Aetna (NYSE: ΑET) today announced a new product offering specifically designed for the more than 5,000 members of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Under the affinity program, Aetna’s individual, small group and voluntary hospital plans will be offered to Chamber members beginning July 1. “Finding comprehensive, affordable health benefits options is always a challenge for small businesses,” said Patrick Young, president of Aetna’s Pennsylvania market. “Aetna is very pleased to offer this program to members of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. “Small businesses and sole proprietors play a critical role in our local economy, and Aetna is committed to working with them to find solutions to their benefits needs.” “Affordable access to quality health care services is critical to the continued success of any business,” said Rob Wonderling, president and CEO, Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. “We are happy to partner with Aetna to bring our members – both large and small – affordable health care products and services so they can continue to grow their businesses.” Beyond the standard offerings in Aetna individual and small group plans, Chamber members will receive several value-added services, including a member assistance program; concierge service; and a 20-percent discount on retail Vital Savings cards, which provide access to savings on a variety of dental and health-related products and services. The Aetna Voluntary Hospital Plan (AVHP) will be offered to all Chamber members, whether they choose an individual or small group plan. It can be offered as a completely voluntary plan or with any portion paid by the employer, when combined with an Aetna plan. The AVHP pays hospital claims on a fully integrated basis, with no additional claim forms required. Plans will be marketed through Benefit Services Inc., a subsidiary of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Aetna provides health benefits to more than 1 million members in Pennsylvania.
