Karen S. Rohan to Head Aetna’s Specialty Products Organization

HARTFORD, Conn., June 07, 2012 — Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced today that Karen S. Rohan will be joining the company as executive vice president and head of Specialty Products. In this role, she will be responsible for the Dental and Vision, Group Insurance and Consumer Financial Solutions businesses. She also will have responsibility for leading the company’s distribution strategy. Rohan joins Aetna from Magellan Health Services, where she has served as president since 2009. She will report to Mark T. Bertolini, Aetna chairman, CEO and president, and will serve on the company’s Executive Committee. “Karen’s deep knowledge of the health care industry and strong leadership will be critical as we continue to position our company for success in an evolving marketplace,” said Bertolini. “Our goal is to ensure that we are delivering products and services that help our customers get the most value for their health care dollar. Karen will help us deliver on this commitment and drive new strategies that will make quality health care more affordable and accessible to the people we serve.” Since 2009, Rohan has served as president of Magellan Health Services, where she was responsible for the strategic direction and profit and loss of Magellan's behavioral health, radiology, specialty pharmaceuticals and Medicaid pharmacy benefits administration business units. Prior to joining Magellan, Rohan was president of the Group Disability, Dental and Vision Care businesses of CIGNA Corporation.
