Aetna Teams Up With Florida State Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce To Offer Individual Products

LAKE WORTH, Fla., April 24, 2012 — As part of its efforts to meet the unique needs of the Hispanic business community, Aetna (NYSE: AET) is now offering individual products to members of the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FSHCC) and their families. Thousands of Chamber members and their families will be able to purchase affordable, high-quality coverage.

The individual plans available to FSHCC members will include services above those offered in Aetna’s standard plans, including a new consumer portal for on-line services and a member assistance program. The plans will be available statewide to all members, but access will be expanded to local chambers and FSHCC affiliates.

“Aetna values the close relationship we’ve built with the FSHCC,” said Kevin Enterlein, president of Aetna’s South Florida and Central Florida markets. “Most of the Chamber’s members are sole proprietors, and many often struggle to find high quality and affordable health insurance coverage. We believe these individual plans will be particularly attractive to them.”

FSHCC members will be able to select from a wide variety of plan options*, including PPO-style plans; high-deductible health plans compatible with health savings accounts; preventive and hospital plans that combine coverage for preventive care with catastrophic coverage for services like inpatient hospital care and outpatient surgery; and an optional dental PPO plan.

Along with the different plan choices, Aetna will offer value-added options such as a member assistance program (MAP) and concierge services, which can help people better manage work and life issues. FSHCC members will also be able to obtain Vital Savings by Aetna® discount cards for dental and pharmacy services.

“This opportunity to work with Aetna is critical to our Hispanic business community in Florida,” said Julio Fuentes, FSHCC president and CEO. “Affordable and quality health care for the employer and employees is essential to the growth of any business. We are proud to be working alongside Aetna to provide excellent benefits to our members in Florida.”

FSHCC members will have access to a new consumer portal for online quoting and rating, as well as dedicated telephonic access to Aetna sales representatives. Once enrolled, members will have access to a number of different resources, such as Aetna Navigator®, Aetna’s password-protected member website, as well as the CareEngine-powered Personal Health Record (PHR).
