Edward J. Ludwig serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Becton, Dickinson and Company (“BD”) (global medical technology company). He was elected Chairman of the Board in February 2002, Chief Executive Officer in January 2000 and served as President from May 1999 to December 31, 2008. Mr. Ludwig joined BD as a Senior Financial Analyst in 1979. Prior to joining BD, Mr. Ludwig served as a senior auditor with Coopers and Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers) and as a financial and strategic analyst at Kidde, Inc. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the College of the Holy Cross and is a member and past Chair of the Health Advisory Board for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is also a trustee of the Hackensack (NJ) University Medical Center and Board member and past Chairman of Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).
